Hi! I'm Bex, the owner and creator behind R Ceramics.

I fell in love with the art of clay the very first time I sat down at a potting wheel. What I thought would be a hobby in my spare time quickly turned into a passion. I was gratefully gifted an old wheel that had been languishing in someone's garage, then not long after I left my job as a magazine designer to explore where this pottery journey could take me.

I love to create mostly functional pottery, but I also enjoy building fun, whimsical and pretty things like birdhouses that always make me and others smile.

Thanks to my handy husband, I now work in a small but beautiful studio on our family farm in the Hunua Ranges, southeast of Auckland. When I'm not spending time with our two sons, waiting for pots to dry, or cracking open the kiln, I still dabble in design, grow veges in our garden, and go hiking in the ranges.
